Help to keep A View of the Past
A Vision for the Future
By joining W.E.S.T., you
will help save precious historic resources that will otherwise
disappear
Through your contribution, you will
provide for your children, their children and their children's
children
Without your concern, our
diverse heritage will fade into a future
of little artistic or architectural memory
Join W.E.S.T. to help
develop heritage tourism sites and activities that will increase
visitation to the region, serve as an educational tool, adaptively
use our historic buildings, and act as a catalyst for economic
development.
Join W.E.S.T. to help preserve
the gradual degradation and permanent loss of our cultural and
architectural resources.
W.E.S.T. was
established in 1991 as part of a State
of Wisconsin Heritage Tourism Initiative designed to help communities
preserve their historic cultural resources and enhance their economic
vitality through tourism. When complete, the W.E.S.T. Project
will be a recognizable cluster of many ethnic settlements &
touring opportunities.
Within a 200 mile region including 14 Lake
Michigan Shoreline area counties, it will introduce residents
and visitors to recognizable ethnic and historic art, architecture,
lifestyles, foods, farmsteads and communities.
W.E.S.T. invites
your participation in this innovative project which links
Wisconsin's rich ethnic & cultural heritage with a growing
interest in tourism & economic development.
